In italy, from 5th July 2017, the new Legislative decree No. 92 of 25th May 2017, came into force, ensuring full traceability of trade and exchanges of Secondhand precious metal objects.
Obligations:
-All the operators involved in buying gold on exclusive, secondary and occasional way, must be registered in the “Registro degli Operatori compro oro”(Gold Operator Register)
- Customer identification by identity card
-Cash transactions cannot exceed 500 euros
-Obligation to report suspicious operations to FIU (Financial Intelligence Unit)
